When To Rebuild Your Bypass Shocks

4.0″ bypass shocks work harder than smaller shocks — they’re handling heavier vehicles, bigger landings, and more cycles per run. They benefit from regular service. Rebuild when you notice:

• Visible oil weeping around the shaft or seals.
• Inconsistent damping or fade during long runs.
• Reduced progressive bottom-out resistance.
• Higher operating temperatures than usual.

For race builds, plan on a rebuild every season. For trail use, every 50–100 hours of hard riding.
